Deutscher Arbeitgebertag 2010

The Maritim Hotel, Berlin was the venue for the German Employer Day 2010 (Deutsche Arbeitgebertag 2010). I was asked for doing lighting design and focusing by Ingmar Hendrix @ cb.e Berlin. Like many event shows, this production was put in and programmed on the day before the show, meaning maximum impact was required from a huge amount of lighting equipment. The show was divided into 2 parts, an evening “come together” and an all-day conference including a live broadcast because of the appearance of the german chancellor Mrs Angela Merkel.

Unfortunatly there was no time to make any modifications on the lighting setup so it has to fit for these 2 purposes.

The set was coloured using Vari*Lite 3000 Spots because of its huge zoom, Robe 700 Spots for onstage purposes and lots of LED fixtures like LMPs PowerBar AT.

The columns in the hotel ballroom were uplight using coloured PAR 64 and the show was programmed and run by Tobias Broecking using a MA GrandMA fullsize I. Production was by TSE AG Berlin.

Rammstein Festival Tour 2010

As part of their European summer tour, Rammstein performed at the 2010 Rock AM Ring Festival on 4–6 June 2010. They also headlined several shows across Europe on the Sonisphere Festival, including their first ever outdoor UK performance at Knebworth Park .

I was proud to be responsible for initial lighting setup including the Falkon 3K and 7K fixtures and to do some malighting network where I have had to connect the 2 grandMA full-size consoles at the FOH with the local setup at the festival sites. The whole scenic and lighting design was done by Roy Bennet pretty well.

It was a very interesting work which took me through Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Finland and finally to Romania.

10 Years EADS

The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company N.V. (EADS) is a large European aerospace and defence corporation. I was booked by Martin Wolf @ cb.e Berlin to create a lighting design and concept for their 10-years aniversary celebration at Berlin’s Kronprinzenpalais. The whole object, including the great outdoor garden was used for that event.

The interior lighting on the venue was softened with a change of lamps in the fittings and additional gel. The entrance was constructed like a tunnel because the whole building was a construction site during that event and has to be illuminated as well. The terrace was conventinal lighted by fresnel but half of the outdoor area was roofed by huge part-transparent circle tent coloured using Robe 700 movings profilers. The exterior of the garden was additinal lighted by LMPs LED Powerbar AT fixtures and exterior floodlights. As a special invitation there have been custom made gobos projected to the walls of the entire building. For that task i used some Vari*Lite 3000 profiler spots because of its zooming capabilities.

The production was made by TSE AG and the equipment count exceeds 200 fixtures in total.

Berliner Bank Plenum 2010

Since the aquisition of Berliner Bank by Deutsche Bank this old financial institute become a resident under that huge shield. The annual plenum took place at the Berlin Messe and was divided into the formal conference at the Palais and the exhibition at hall 20. I was asked by Gregor Weinhold @ cb.e Berlin to do the planing and realizing work in all lighting aspects. The production was equiped by TSE AG.

Because of the huge span at hall 20 it was nessesary to bring in at least 250 fixtures of Robe 700 series, Vari*Lite 2500 series, Vari*Lite 3000 series, Martin Mac 250 spotlights, ARRI fresnels, DeSisti fresnels and ETC S4 profiler.

TUI ITB Abend 2010

TUI AG (Touristik Union International) is a German multinational travel and tourism company. During each years ITB (international touristic fair) a big come together evening is placed at Berlin’s Schlüterhof (old arsenal). I was proud to be responsible for the complete lighting again after my 1st work for Katja Schossmann @ cb.e Berlin in 2009. In difference to last years event the foyer is no longer used for cultural activities, just for administration and entrance, so i could move some extra budget to the main area.

I used beside my last years fixtures some brand new Robe 2500 spot and washlights. Unfortunatly the zooming capabilities are not as good as Vari*Lites 3000 spots are, but it was worth to try it. To make construction work much more easier and to do some eco i replaced all generic bulbs to LMPs LED AT3 to light the well-known frescoes inside.
